The community centre has been designed by the Auroville, Earth Institute in Tamil Nadu.

New Technology will be used to harness the freely available solar energy. This will be built local traditional style and will incorporate solar energy for heating lighting and hot water.

The building will consist of

• A dental and ophthalmic clinic.
• A craft centre with traditional style of weaving and spinning of Spiti.
• An information centre to incorporate local herbs, plants, nature conservation and wild life. To include the history and geology of the Spiti valley.
• Café/restaurant for the local people and tourist.
